Lordrush Resource Protection Guide: Secured Resources, Storehouse & Shields

Quick answer: Your total resource number is not the amount enemies can steal. Unopened backpack items are safe. Secured resources are safe. Storehouse protects part of your non-secured resources. Only non-secured resources above Storehouse protection are exposed.

Resource protection is one of the easiest systems to misunderstand in Lordrush. New players see a big number on the top bar and assume it is all at risk. That is how people end up wasting shields when they were already safe, or going offline exposed when they were not.

What matters is the bucket. If you know which resources are secured, which are non-secured, and how much Storehouse protection you have, you can stop guessing.

The Three Resource Buckets

BucketCan it be stolen?Notes
Backpack itemsNoSafe until opened
Secured resourcesNoAlready protected by source
Non-secured resourcesSometimesStorehouse protects some; excess can be plundered

Tap your resources in game and check the breakdown instead of guessing from the total. The top-bar number alone is not enough.

Secured Resources

Secured resources cannot be plundered. They are already safe before Storehouse is considered.

Common secured sources include passive city income and certain reward items that are marked secured. The exact label matters. If the game marks a resource as secured, enemies do not get to steal it from your city.

That means a player with 20M total Wood may be much safer than the number looks if most of that Wood is secured. Do not shield just because the total looks scary; shield because the exposed part is worth protecting.

Non-Secured Resources

Non-secured resources are the ones you need to watch. Gathering returns, plundered resources, and some opened resource items can become non-secured city stock.

Non-secured does not automatically mean stolen. Storehouse protects part of it. The exposed amount is only what remains after Storehouse protection.

Exposed resource = max(0, non-secured resource - Storehouse protection)

Calculate that separately for Bread, Wood, Stone, and Iron.

Storehouse Protection

Storehouse protects non-secured resources up to its current limit. It does not protect troops. It does not protect gathering marches. It does not turn exposed resources back into backpack items.

Upgrade Storehouse when:

  • It is required for progression.
  • You regularly hold exposed resources.
  • You are saving for a major Town Center or Academy upgrade.
  • Your server is getting more aggressive.

Do not assume Storehouse replaces shields. A large stockpile can still exceed protection, especially after gathering or opening resource items.

Backpack Items Are Safe

Unopened resource items in your backpack cannot be stolen from your city. That is why the F2P guide keeps repeating the same advice: do not open everything at once.

Use this habit:

  1. Check the exact cost of the upgrade or research.
  2. Open only the amount you need.
  3. Start the project immediately.
  4. Leave the rest in backpack.

Opening a huge pile of resources just because you have it is one of the fastest ways to create raid risk. Open what the upgrade needs, start the upgrade, and leave the rest alone.

Gathering Returns

Gathered resources do not return as safe backpack items. They come back into your city stockpile and can be non-secured.

That does not mean you should stop gathering. Gathering is still one of your best free income sources. It means you should spend or protect large gathering returns before logging off during dangerous periods.

For daily gathering habits, use the Lordrush daily routine guide.

Shields

A shield protects your city from attacks and scouting for its duration. It does not protect:

  • Troops on resource tiles.
  • Troops parked in exposed map positions.
  • Marches already outside your city.
  • Resources after the shield expires.

Shield before logging off when:

  • A kill event or war window allows city hits.
  • You are holding exposed non-secured resources.
  • Your troops are home and you cannot afford big Infirmary losses.
  • Your alliance warns that hostile players are active.
  • You cannot watch attack notifications.

Do not break a shield for a small hit unless you are ready for the consequences. A cheap revenge hit is not worth losing a long shield before bed.

Emergency Response

If you get scouted or see an incoming march, use this order:

  1. Check whether the target is your city or a gathering tile.
  2. Shield if your city is the target and shielding is available.
  3. Teleport if you cannot shield and relocation is allowed.
  4. Recall gatherers if resource tiles are being hit.
  5. Warn alliance leadership with attacker name, coordinates, and target.
  6. After impact, check wounded troops and plundered resources.

Counter-recon hides information, but it does not stop an attack. Reinforcements help in close fights. Against a much stronger player, shield or teleport is usually cleaner.

Troop Safety Is Separate

Resource protection and troop protection are not the same thing.

You can have no exposed resources and still get hit for event points. You can have a shielded city and still lose troops on tiles. You can have Storehouse protection and still fill your Infirmary if you take a bad fight.

Before major PvP windows, check:

  • Infirmary capacity.
  • Whether your shield will last.
  • Whether gatherers are exposed.
  • Whether alliance rules protect tiles.
  • Whether you are carrying non-secured resources above Storehouse protection.

Farm Accounts

If you run farm accounts, Storehouse becomes a role decision. A main account wants protection. A farm account designed for controlled plunder may not want to protect too much non-secured stock.

Do not upgrade a farm's Storehouse blindly if your plan is to move exposed resources to your main through controlled attacks. Decide the account's purpose first.

Common Resource Protection Mistakes

  • Opening every backpack item immediately.
  • Assuming all top-bar resources can be stolen.
  • Assuming Storehouse protects secured resources better; secured resources were already safe.
  • Forgetting that gathering returns can be non-secured.
  • Shielding the city while leaving gatherers exposed on tiles.
  • Holding a large stockpile overnight during a dangerous event.
  • Breaking shield for a low-value attack.
  • Treating alliance territory as if it makes the city untouchable.
