Quick answer: Push Town Center first. After that, upgrade whatever your next Town Center level requires, then keep Embassy, Academy, and your Infantry, Archer, and Lancer troop camps from falling too far behind. Infirmary and Storehouse matter, but they should not steal resources from your next Town Center push unless you are about to fight or you are holding exposed resources.
Building order matters more in Lordrush than new players expect. A base can look busy and still be behind if the queues are going into buildings that do not unlock anything important. I would rather have an ugly-looking base with Town Center moving than a neat base where every farm is even and TC is waiting.
If you are still in your first week, pair this with the Lordrush beginner's guide. If you are saving resources and speedups around events, the Hall of Governors guide explains why timing matters.
The Priority Order
| Priority | Building or category | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Town Center | Gates almost every major account unlock |
| 2 | Current Town Center prerequisites | These are the only buildings that unblock the next TC level |
| 3 | Embassy | Alliance Help reduces long timers and it often appears as a requirement |
| 4 | Academy | Permanent research power, economy, and combat value |
| 5 | Troop camps | Higher Infantry, Archer, and Lancer tiers come from these buildings |
| 6 | Infirmary | Protects troops from becoming permanent losses |
| 7 | Storehouse | Protects non-secured resources above basic safety |
| 8 | Resource buildings | Useful, but active gathering and events usually matter more |
That order changes when the game gives you a hard requirement. If your next Town Center level asks for Academy, Academy jumps near the top until it is done. If it asks for a troop camp, that camp moves up. Do not argue with the upgrade panel.
Do not build from memory. Tap your next Town Center upgrade, check the exact requirement pair, and plan around that screen. Generic tables are useful for planning, but your account panel wins.
Town Center Comes First
Town Center is the main account gate. It controls building caps, troop progression, research unlocks, and the pace of almost every future system. An idle Town Center path is the easiest way to fall behind an active server.
The mistake is upgrading everything evenly. It feels tidy, but it burns resources on buildings that are not blocking anything. Use this loop instead:
- Start or finish the current Town Center upgrade.
- Check the next Town Center requirement.
- Upgrade the required buildings.
- Use your second queue on Academy, Embassy, troop camps, or protection buildings.
- Save major speedup use for the right event stage.
For most F2P players, Town Center progression is the backbone of the whole account. It also lines up with Hall of Governors, where a planned construction push can give you progress and event rewards at the same time.
Embassy Is Not Optional
Embassy is easy to underrate because it does not look as exciting as troops or heroes. That is a mistake. Alliance Help is free time off the timers you were going to run anyway.
Embassy matters because Alliance Help cuts time from construction and research. On short timers, that is convenient. On long timers, it becomes a real amount of saved time across weeks of progression. If your alliance is active, every big build should get help immediately.
Keep Embassy close enough that it does not become the building blocking every Town Center push. When the next TC level asks for Embassy, move it directly behind Town Center in your queue.
Academy And Research
Academy is permanent power. Troops can die, resources can be raided, and speedups disappear when used. Research stays.
Early on, I would not overcomplicate the research plan. Keep something researching all the time, and start with the lines that make the account easier to run:
- Construction and research speed where available
- Gathering and march efficiency
- Combat stats once your account starts joining serious rallies
- Troop unlock or troop-strength requirements when they appear
Academy upgrades are especially important when they unlock the next useful research tier. If your Academy is far behind, you may have the Town Center level for stronger research but not the building level to start it.
Infantry, Archer, And Lancer Troop Camps
Lordrush uses Infantry, Archer, and Lancer. Keep those three troop classes balanced enough that future upgrades and formations are not painful to fix.
Your troop camps matter because they unlock higher troop tiers and keep your training queues useful. You do not need all three perfectly even before every Town Center level, but letting one fall weeks behind creates annoying problems later in Bear Hunt, rallies, defense, and training events.
Use this rule:
- If a troop camp blocks Town Center, upgrade it now.
- If no camp blocks Town Center, upgrade the one that is furthest behind.
- If all three are close, prioritize the troop type your current heroes and alliance role use most.
For damage-event setup, the Lordrush Bear Hunt guide covers the current Gen 1 formation and joiner logic.
Infirmary And Storehouse
Infirmary and Storehouse are protection buildings. They do not usually beat Town Center, but ignoring them completely is how a peaceful-looking account gets punished the first time the server turns messy.
Infirmary protects wounded troops. This matters before PvP windows, tile fighting, city hits, and any event where you might take real losses. If your Infirmary capacity is low and your server is getting aggressive, upgrade it before you need it.
Storehouse protects part of your non-secured resources. It does not make all resources safe, and it does not protect unopened backpack items because those are already safe. The Storehouse becomes more important when you are holding a large on-hand stockpile before a big upgrade.
For the full resource safety breakdown, use the Lordrush resource protection guide.
Resource Buildings
Resource buildings help, but I would not build my whole early plan around them. Active gathering, events, alliance rewards, and backpack items usually carry more weight.
Upgrade resource buildings when:
- Town Center requires one.
- You have a spare queue and no better prerequisite.
- You are filling short timers while waiting on resources.
- Your account is peaceful and you value passive income.
Do not sink your best speedups into resource buildings just because they are available. If a build does not unlock Town Center, research, troops, protection, or event points, it can usually wait.
Second Construction Queue
The second builder is one of the few gem exceptions I like for F2P players. Renting it for 1,000 gems for 2 days makes sense during a real build push, especially when both queues can stay busy with Town Center prerequisites.
On quiet days, skip the rental. A second queue only helps when you have enough resources and attention to keep it running. If you rent it and then let it sit idle, you basically bought nothing.
Low spenders should usually buy the permanent extra construction queue if Lordrush offers it in the same early pack path. A permanent builder compounds for months, which is much better than spending the same money on resources or short speedups.
Speedup Timing For Buildings
Construction speedups should not be used whenever you feel impatient. The same speedup can either:
- Finish a building today with no event points, or
- Finish a building during a Hall of Governors construction stage and earn rewards at the same time.
That is why I would save most construction speedups. The exception is when a Town Center upgrade is directly blocking something important and waiting would cost more than the event value you are saving for.
The Lordrush speedups guide goes deeper on when to spend and when to hold.
Common Building Mistakes
- Letting Town Center sit idle while upgrading random buildings.
- Upgrading every building evenly instead of following TC requirements.
- Forgetting to request Alliance Help immediately.
- Renting the second builder without enough resources to use it.
- Spending construction speedups outside a scoring stage.
- Ignoring troop camps until your troop tiers are far behind.
- Holding huge non-secured resources without Storehouse, shield, or a build ready.
